Getting older sucks.
Potentially odd question. I've recently developed some arthritis in my thumbs that makes playing games with a traditional controller...not so easy. I've been trying to get around this by playing more games with a mouse and keyboard when possible. However, one game that I'm unable to do this with as easily is Metroid Dread, which uses the left stick for 360 degree aiming (meaning I can't realistically use WASD or a mouse).
I tried to get around this by using a fight stick; on paper, it seemed like the ideal workaround. Joystick that would allow for more than 8 directions of aiming, and buttons that I would be able to press with more than just my thumbs, letting me take some of the pressure off them. I got a Mayflash F500 and tried it out, only to realize that...the joystick is actually locked to 8 directions itself; only capable of reading cardinal and diagonal directions.
I totally get why this is done given that it is intended for use in fighting games, but is there by any chance a stick out there that someone might know of that isn't constrained to 8 directions for inputs?
