Questions about two early hints that show Tyler isn’t real. Firstly, did The Narrator base Tyler on the waiter at the far right of the Bridgeworth Suites: Londoner Hall commercial, or did his mind just put Tyler in the commercial to reinforce Tyler as being a real person to him? Secondly, a hint that gets overlooked is in the bathroom scene when Tyler is bathing and they talk about who they’d fight, Tyler says he’d fight his dad, and The Narrator says he hasn’t been in touch with his dad since he was 6, but he then talks to Tyler about how their dads where the same:
Tyler “my dad never went to college, so it was REAL important that I go.” Narrator: “that sounds familiar.” T: “so I graduate, and call him up and say ‘dad, now what?’ and he says ‘get a job.’” N: laughs “same here.”
