[Archlinux] Fightcade only works properly when run as administrator

Title. Installed fightcade2 from AUR. If run from my user account, the main app loads but then the emulators don't work, giving an error

If I run sudo Fightcade2.sh (don't do this) then the emulator works but this is a really dumb thing that you should not do. Anyone else got it working on Arch?
