Liquidate everything and semi-retire?
Post Body

Hi! My wife (29) and I (31) were fortunate enough to buy a detached place when covid started which is currently being rented out.

She also purchased a pre-construction (before she met me in 2018 which is expected to complete within a year. We currently have saved around 500k in our TFSA and RRSP maxed out and a portion of it in our non-registered accounts. We both also have DB plans through work. We are currently renting a 1 bedroom condo for $2000.

We debated selling the two properties (net proceeds of $700k roughly) and that would bring us close to $1.2 million based on current valuation and invest that into stocks. The goal then would be is to live off dividends and work contract jobs overseas/travel. Has anyone ever done this? Would love to hear other people's experiences. We are just scared to pull the trigger when the time comes. Thank you!
