Why are people talking about job design or fight design when the only issue right now is the numbers?
Post Body

The fights were generally fun this tier (I'm at the tail end of P3S.) Some of the jobs might be wanting some adjustment but in general there doesn't need to be sweeping changes to either fight design or job design. I think FFXIV job design should stay relatively simple. One of the things that makes getting into WoW or Guild Wars or any number of MMOs so daunting is whether what you're doing or playing is "meta" especially with there being such an issue especially in WoW of some classes not being included in some content. In FF14 we've generally managed to avoid this issue because of the lack of customization. Maybe some people want deeper customization as part of their experience, but I don't think FF14 is or should ever be that game. The game is approachable and thats what makes it so inviting. The complexity can be in the fight design and the diversity of content that is available. At the end of the day SE could pump up the numbers of PLD, RDM, MCH, BRD, DNC and SMN 2-5% and they would mostly solve everyone's concerns around DPS. I do think the balance issues need to be addressed. Hopefully 6.21 brings some of those changes.
