The Unfortunate Entitlement Of A Indecisive FFXIV Community: Harsh Realization That Feedback Provisions Doesn't Guarantee Implementation
Post Body

This is something the community struggles to understand. Though not really exclusive to FFXIV community it is still fairly misunderstood enough that people get really upset when their feedback hasn't been added because they felt like their feedback was good.

The thing you have to realize is that your feedback isn't guaranteed to be be added to the game or taken into consideration. This doesn't matter if people are backing your feedback. This includes getting 100 likes on your Twitter post, reddit, the official forums or people agreeing with you on your YouTube video or stream. Doesn't matter who you are. content creator or influencer.

If the feedback your giving doesn't align with CBU3 or the feedback isn't unanimous then it won't be added or considered.

I don't like to single out a single community but I notice this is more common with Americans/NA community. I know it's a cultural thing so I won't speak further as it would sound like I'm generalizing. But since NA community is so massive the feedback from them are always fragmented.

Big example is healer. Some people in NA outright hate healer now while others would say they like the way healers are but just want more stuff to heal.

So which is it? If you were CBU3 listening to NA feedback is too difficult to consider so it's better to go with the feedback everybody agrees with. I took the time yesterday to ask couple of random people on my data center how they feel about healer and all them said it was fine and they're ok with the single attack. One really cool prospective was if they wanted to have a complex damage rotation they would play a dps.

I also wanted to get the opinion of American players so I used my NA character to speak to Americans and oddly enough they said they same thing. I made sure to ask some alpha legends as well and the general opinion from the raiders were they were ok with healer but they wish there was more damage output. From non raider healers oddly enough they were the ones that said they would like more damage spells which was a big contrast from the ultimate raiders. So with that, I concluded that if I were CBU3. I would just leave healers as they are now. (I didn't visit EU because I don't have a eu character)

Something everybody forgets it CBU3 has to listen to everybody. They can't just take the feedback of Japanese and implement it immediately and same goes to NA. There are other communities in this game. It isn't just NA and Japan. There is also EU which has multiple communities within it. It has German and French. Both which have their own types of players from what EU people told me. So their feedback is also taken into consideration.

A lot of Americans are under the impression CBU3 only listens to Japanese players which couldn't be any further from the truth. If that was the case, kaiten would have returned because we also had people crying about it's lost. And with that said I need to say something important.

FFXIV is SE/CBU3 Game. Not ours, though our feedback is important. They still have their own vision of the game and if they don't want to add something that contradicts with their vision and what they want. They won't add it. Something a lot of people don't like to accept because they feel entitled because they're paying to play the game. But it doesn't work like that.

Now I know some people are going to say well guess giving feedback is pointless then. And if you say that you're missing my point.

Overall. You're free to give feedback but there is no guarantee it'll be added unless everybody or a great majority agrees like the 2min meta along with CBU3 also agreeing with it/being fine with the change.
