If You Want Hard Content, Do Ultimate: Playerbase Constant Need To Increase Difficulty Of Accessible Content And The Unachievable Midcore Fault Line
Post Body

There has been quite a few players raising concerns that the lastest battle content has been too easy. 24man and the ex battle.

In regards to the 24man people wanted it to be as hard as the stormblood raids but I really have to call into question...outside the first day how exactly was it hard? And even if you did find it hard, if that raid released today it would be crushed as players have gotten better since then. 24mans have never been hard and this content was and always has been quite easy, the sudden need to make this content hard is odd to me.

If you want hard content, play ultimate. Stop trying to make everything hard, if you can't clear ultimate because it's TOO hard then sorry but tough. It's not right to increase the difficulty of battle content that's not supposed to be high difficulty in the first place. HW 24man wasn't difficult, SB wasn't difficult and ShB wasn't difficult...so why is Endwalker suddenly different?

I know people are going to say - well this game lacks midcore content but the problem with midcore content is that difficult range only exists to each individual player. Someone might think "said" midcore content is too easy, some might think is too hard. So what happens is people will just call that content either casual content or hardcore.

I think Savage content is midcore. It's not too hard and it's not too easy but some people think savage is too hard so they get angry when others call it midcore because they take it as a direct insult on their skill. I also think Criterion Dungeons are midcore content but some people also say it's too hard. There is never an agreement, which is why the excuse to make actual casual content harder is a lofty one as midcore difficulty is impossible to achieve due to everybody having their own definition of what actually qualifies as midcore content.

Ex primals use to be what most consider midcore but lately people have changed their minds are that stance since apparently they are too easy now.

I know people are going to bring up Bozja and that one has been the most varied. Some thought it was too easy and some thought it was just way too hard. Made worst when they made a savage version of DR.

I can see some saying if they didn't make everything easy people wouldn't be asking to make causal content harder. Well the problem there is CBU3 has tried to make thing a bit more difficult before and people hated it. Rather the people that prefer relaxed battle content. The dungeon "The Mist" was quite difficult and people complained it was too hard. People would just outright drop the dungeon soon as they got it and more so if they didn't see a rdm or a smn. The outcry was big and CBU3 just never made a dungeon as hard as that again. The repercussions is bigger upsetting the casual crowd than it is upsetting raiders or people that want harder things not savage range.

There will never be a perfect difficulty. Nobody will ever agree what is midcore as it just varies too much. When CBU3 does attempt it never turns out well. See Stormblood final boss complaints. Since midcore content is very varied the best thing to do is just do what CBU3 has been doing all of endwalker. Just making casual content stay around the same difficulty and making hard content harder.

If you feel things like 24man need to be harder. I think you just need to accept it's not and if you need a challenge, just do ultimate. Don't try to change things that are meant to be done by everybody to be harder so everybody just starts dropping eveytime they get it in their daily roulette. FFXIV has plenty of hard content for you to enjoy. I see no point in advocating in uping the difficulty in dungeon and 24man.
