Seriously...

It's to have fun and destress from the outside world.

All people care about is rewards now. Nobody plays games because it's fun, it really makes you think...why do you continue to play if your sole purpose is just to get the carrot at the end of the stick.

This got me thinking because so many people says how fun the savage 4man dungeon was but all I heard at the same time was.

"Only going to do it once because reward sucks" or "Not going to do it because reward sucks" Yet at the same time, they say it's fun?

So it begs the question.... have people just forgotten the point of playing a video game? It's to have fun.

Rewards should never been mandatory, rewards are a Bonus.

You play games to have fun. If the rewards are not to "your" liking that's fine but it might be to others, along with if you have fun doing the content; just do it as much as you want. You do not need a reward.

For example; My Static done killed TOP 64 times before the unlocked weekly to get tomes before reset. We didn't do top for the rewards, we did top because it was fun to do.

But it seems like everybody plays just to get a reward and show off what they have that others don't, but that's always been a thing not even exclusive to gaming. People just like to show off something they have others don't to get a boost of ego.

The variant and criterion does not need to change it's reward system because you want a shiny weapon or some kinda flex reward after beat it. You play these to have fun.

Blue Mage is another big one. The general consensus is blue is extremely fun but even with that good praise... People barely play Blu content, why is that? As you probably guessed....

The rewards.

A good size of people haven't even touch Blu because the rewards are Blu centric so people don't have much to show off other than the mount.

6.45 has proven to me that a great deal of the FFXIV community has forgotten what it means to play a game.

You play games to have fun.

If the content they gave us in 6.45 is considered to be fun to do but your reason of not doing it is because the rewards are not to your liking....

I think you really need to consider...

If your sole reason of playing a game isn't to have fun but just to get a reward to show off.

Do you even enjoy video games anymore?
