So I started playing FFXIV after migrating from Guild Wars and WoW, roughly four months ago. I was entirely prepared to spend hours grinding through side quests and whatnot to get to max level and actually start the game. Naturally I picked DPS (Lancer) so I could kill and stab my way to the end haha. Well, I got through ARR and adored the story.
Arriving in Ishgard introduced me to the three new classes. Wasn't super interested in Machinist so I checked out Astrologian and holy star gazing jesus...it's the most fun and interesting class!
Doing the class quests feels eye opening and adds depth, pulling cards and tossing out buffs while still being able to heal with some big numbers feels super impactful. I'm still new to the entire thing, but I don't see myself going back to anything for a while...or until I complete HW.
Praise be to the stars for opening my eyes and aether!
