Hope you all have had a great day. I am writing this post to let you all share the interesting thing that happened to me today.

 So my daughter is three years old and has a rare form of autism that keeps her from being able to socialize.  It has been hard to get her to engage and connect to people.  Well, when I got back into this game my wife insisted that I name my character after my daughter because it gives me a chance to at least spend time and engage with something related to her.  Fast forward a week and as I put my daughter bed one night she mentioned the game.  Not one to pass up on the chance to spend some time with my daughter I begin to tell her the basic story and how it all started.  

 Her eyes were wide and I was flabbergasted that she was not only engaged and following the story but that she was allowing me to hold her and brush her hair.  She has never let me hold her for more than a few minutes before she gets fussy and cries begging to be let go.  Her mother is the only one able to touch her without any problems.  

I jumped at the chance to relate the story to her in more detail and depth.  She soaked up the story like a sponge and even started asking questions and watching me play.  She would laugh and giggle and point at things when before she would only just stare blankly.  And at night she refuses to go to bed unless she is told a story about the game. 

I started to pour into the lore and think of things that would captivate her.  It has been almost three weeks and she is like a new kid.  She greets me when I pick her up from day care.  She hugs me.  She asks me to tell her about the pretty knight lady that makes the world safe.  She tells her mama "Daddy is a hero saving those people" whenever I am in a town.  I hugged my wife and cried like a baby that first time she let me hold her.  

  This story is sappy and may be annoying to some due to the content and format, but to me this means the world.  I found a way to connect to my daughter and I am able to be a part of her world.  She is almost like a new child and it is due in large part to this game.  So thank you SE for making the game that gave me a window into my little girls life.  And thank the people in the game community that have made the time I have spent in game pleasant.  Big shout out to the people in Diminishing Echo on Lamia that have made me feel like it is ok to be an individual and have a life.
