If you are playing FFXIV, especially in the end game scenario, chances are you've been using a voicechat system: Teamspeak, Mumble, Discord or any of the sort.

While I've been using Teamspeak myself for a long time now, I try to avoid it as much as possible, only using it when I need to coordinate with static and FC members. Why?

Because I can't stand the obnoxious noises that keep coming from the various persons in the chat system.

• There's the guy who uses a broken microphone or who knows what else makeshift piece of junk. It occasionally emits loud static noises or whenever the user talks it screeches and makes him sound like a robot.

• There's the guy who plays with his microphone attached to his keyboard or joypad or he simply plays with the strength and delicacy of a raging elephant. He mashes on the buttons so hard, that it's all you hear for the whole fight.

• There's the guy who's too cool for headphones and he likes to keep the music of the game loud, or perhaps he's watching the TV or listening to the radio.

• There's the guy who, I don't know, likes to play with his microphone, or he keeps adjusting it, because you keep hearing rapping noises from it every time he's not playing between wipes.

• There's the guy who talks to his family members, or IRL friends, or roomies. Some even talk to their cats and dogs, some even talk to themselves. Of course they don't bother moving away the microphone even if they are not busy playing at the time.

• There's the guy who always keeps his smartphone close by. You keep hearing an incessant barrage of beeps and jingles signaling the arrival of new messages.

• There's the guy who can't fight with an empty stomach, and so he keeps eating stuff. Bonus point if they come in a noisy envelope like chips or if they are very crunchy biscuits.

Am I the only one who experience this? Or am I strange for being so bothered by that? What are your thoughts and\or experiences on the matter?
