"The Locust Mentality"
Post Body

So.. Im bored and its almost 1am (PST) so I figured I'd ask the community a question. In all my time raiding in EQ/EQ2/WoW/SWToR/etc I could never understand people who followed what I call the, "Locust Mentality". Meaning the people who map out from day one what classes/quests/etc they are going to grind to get to max level in the first week so they can start chipping away at raid content until nearly everything becomes obsolete in the first month.

I would even go so far as to call myself a "hardcore" raider, usually doing 5-6 a week just to gear up for next tier/challenge/etc but I can't claim I was ever in a number one guild. I just sorta leveled up on my own and then joined a guild that was in the very beginning of progression and helped them work up.

It just seems odd to me, to pay a monthly fee for something that is going to be sheer repetition in a few short months because you blew through everything and now theres nothing left till the next big patch.

TL;DR - Why do people rush content and then feel the need to be the loudest on the forums complaining about LACK of content?
