Windows 8 Windower?

As other people have probably experienced, my version of windower crashes during the switch from POL to XI. I have tried running with no plugins, as an administrator and I have been running it at different resolutions. Has anyone had any luck fixing this issue, or is it basically "wait it out, nothing can be done?"
