How long does it take for a ferret to recover from a sickness with antibiotics?

I went to the vet 4 days ago because my ferret was sick and seemed to have problems with his breathing and was lethargic. The vet gave me antibiotics (amoxicillin) which Iām supposed to give him every 12 hours for 10 days. Iām 4 days in and his breathing still seems erratic and he tends to collapse shortly after walking, should I wait the rest of the 6 days or try to visit the vet again?
