What are ferret interactions with humans like?
Post Body

I have 5 ferrets (2 that have been with me for a week, 3 for 2 months), and I feel like they just don't really have a bond with me. They have a safe area with plenty of food, water, space, and free roam time.

I work from home, meaning they see me a lot. Whenever I'm around they seem more interested in each other than me. Maybe it's because I'm the bad guy who feeds them meds and relocates them when pooping in the wrong spot or hiss at them if they bite me too hard, idk. They like treats, but they never follow me around or want to play/hang out with me unless I initiate it, and even then they don't want to most of the time.

I have one girl who will cuddle in short bursts, and one who will lick my face cause of sweat or food, but other than those 2, none of them really interact with me. I try finger wrestling, but they don't fight back. Tug of war works well though. They don't follow me around or anything either.

I kinda feel like I've failed them somehow, almost like they hate me. Is there any easy way to evaluate my bond with them? Cause it feels pretty poor. Maybe I'm just being sensitive, but I feel like a failure and I've done them wrong.
