I've seen here that people say collars are bad and I've got some questions that I would appreciate help with

My lil guy soba has a ferret collar, not a repurposed kitten collar or anything. It's helpful to me because I've got lots draws in my room that he hides in and the bell helps me find him.

I've also got several animals in my house so it's not safe for him to free roam outside of my room. The 2 times he's gotten out the bell was vital in getting him before he started a fight with the other critters.

I keep it loose enough that it slips off pretty easily and he takes it off quite often and will slip off if snagged. It's less about the collar rather then me needing the bell to hear him.

Basically I'm asking with this in mind is having him in his collar still bad? I'm trying to way risk benefit but it's hard to find comprehensive info.
