Context: I occasionally visit my mom’s rental property to help with maintenance, and the current tenants are some college girls who may have seen me before when I was doing pool or yard work with my mask on. There was no one outside, so I proceeded maskless today.

I had my hair down, was in a simple t-shirt and shorts, and was minding my own business passing by the rented area to access the yard, when I hear a loud exclamation from inside the kitchen, from where I would have been visible: “HE’S SOOO PRETTY!!” So naturally I tried to think of all of the other scenarios that would explain that explanation: maybe they were remarking on a celebrity that one of them happened to be showing the other on their phone. Maybe they were talking about a dog. I still don’t know for sure that the compliment was meant for me, but just the fact that I felt like I looked nice enough that it was worth wondering whether they might have been talking about me makes me kind of happy 😆
