Hey all, I’m looking for recommendations for tours in Porto/Douro Valley. I’m taking a solo trip to Lisbon and Porto, then planning on flying Porto —> Madrid for a few days, and I really want to explore the Douro Valley region a bit more. Really want to explore some wineries and take a few tours in the area.
I’m very comfortable traveling solo but my experiences so far have been in cities, with a few exceptions like hiking solo in Torres Del Paine and road tripping through the Scottish Highlands. So im cool with doing things by myself and being safe, but I feel like the Douro Valley would be better explored via tours and/or guided trips (based on my research so far figuring out where to go/stay as a single woman is a bit difficult to get information about).
Anyways I’m doing some trip planning this weekend and next and would love any feedback any of you have that might be useful, or things you found that were great (or even not so great!). Any guides you thought were great, tour companies that were fun, or hotels in Porto/Douro that you enjoyed and I would love to hear about!
My budget is not a concern and I‘ll be in Porto/Lisbon for about 5 weeks total so I have plenty of time to take a slow approach to exploring.
Thanks so much!
