Packing for Southern Africa in July
Post Body

Hi all,

I'm heading to Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and S. Africa with G Adventures in July. The packing list emphasises how cold it will be there as it's winter but having checked the current weather and the normal seasonal averages I'm a bit uncertain. I know it will be very cold at night and I will need thermals and a pretty heavy duty sleeping bag but the day temperature seems to be in and around 20C...which coming from Ireland is shorts and sandals weather? I know the sun is stronger there so I was thinking things that are light but long legs/sleeves (like linen shirts etc.) but I'm just worried as the info from G adventures just emphasises the cold.
