Kids blurred out of course but this is all 6 months of progress. My goal is as maximalist as possible while saving my sanity because I do have to keep it out of the hands of kids AND clean. So far we have a blue, tan, and red color scheme with mixed metals. I love anything old/vintage, anything nostalgic to my childhood, and thrifted. So a lot of my decorations are purchased secondhand. But anything in is in stores local or Amazon/shein (as much as they are a shitty company, I’m broke and I need to still get certain things somehow.).
I cannot wait until the temps cool down so I can get the window unit out. But in until then I try to do simple but bold colors on the windows and suncatchers to add rainbows when the curtains are open. I also have a small “altar” set up to no one in particular. I have a few altars in fact. And these are where I really show my personality.
Of course I love my plants so I have those in my entryway on top of a huge antique cabinet I use for storage for all my “messy” stuff.
And you gotta love the cozy kids room. lol they are spoiled but I love having separate spaces for all of us.
Lastly my kitchen above my sink was blanddddd. No windows, no good views. So I added plants and lights and little tchotchkes that I’ve collected over the last 5 years. I hope to add other stuff that makes me happy. It really helps me keep my kitchen clean to see the decorations.
Lastly, if you have any tips or ideas for furniture or wall art or anything, feel free to share! It’s a work in progress and I’m open to any help!
