How can I improve this space?

HELP

This is my living/dining room in my 450 sqft apartment. There’s not enough space to completely rearrange furniture. I also can’t paint or put peel and stick wallpaper (matte paint). The white wall across the sofa is mainly used for my projector.

I want to make the space a bit moodier and eclectic maximalist to match the black bookcase. I can’t repaint the bookcase.

Photos 1-4 is my space, 3-7 is my inspiration. The sofa may look very mustard yellow in the photos but it’s actually a dark gold velvet
