I've only just recently gotten health insurance (first time in over two decades) and I'm interested in how much a primary care physician wants/needs to know about our chastity practices. Most times when the subject comes up, the overwhelming chorus is "don't involve strangers in your kink," but as I understand it, your doctor is not (or at least should not be) a stranger - you literally have a professional relationship with them.
My thought is that something like wearing a chastity belt should be part of your medical history, just like recreational drug use or tightlacing. This way, if there are issues with chafing or infections that are correlated with the belt, it won't blindside the doctor and they might simply prescribe a corticosteroid or antimicrobial ointment, and if there are other issues related to wearing a belt, a PCP who already knows about it might more readily offer a referral to an appropriate specialist.
From what I hear, doctors prefer to have healthy patients. If we're involved in anything that may adversely affect our health, they want to be aware of it so they can help us minimize harm. (Something about that professional oath they take when they become doctors...)
