Introduced 8wo kitten to 18wo resident kitten. Resident kitten is aggressor.
Post Body

Yesterday, I introduced a 8 week old kitten, Gnocchi, to my 18 week old kitten, Ravioli, that I’ve had for 2 months. Ravioli is a lot bigger than Gnocchi and he keeps getting very aggressive with Gnocchi. He will wrap his hands around him and then repeatedly jab at him with his feet, claws out and ears back. Also, he will swat at him too aggressively with his claws out. Luckily, Gnocchi is well socialized and even goes swats back at Ravioli and stands his ground sometimes. But Ravioli’s intentions seem clear, that he is jealous and wants to hurt him. My girlfriend and I have picked sides unfortunately and it has drawn a wedge between us. She wants to give Gnocchi back and I want to let it play out for a couple more weeks. Only allowing them to interact when they are supervised. We have tried to make Ravioli aware that what he is doing is bad with a spray bottle, a time out in the carrier, and snapping of fingers upon the behaviors. He doesn’t seem to care about the consequences. How should we let this play out. I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
