Do pings in Incognito Mode work?

Hi, I wanted to see if icognito mode still works as intended? I'm on android btw. I turned on incognito mode on my account and sent a couple of pings. I googled it and some of the older results say pings don't work unless you go off incognito mode. Is this true?
