Extra utilities 2 angel ring cutting off after i go a certain distance.

Is this a intended mechanic? And if so how do I extend the range? After I leave my base (where the grid powers at) I can go maybe 250 blocks onthen it just kinda shuts off. Onthen I have to go back in range for it to work again.
