Can't get draconic resurrection to work

I've set up everything as per the tablet but it isn't working. Now I think it may be because I did an ender quarry on the entire area and now it's just dirt. I tried to make a patch of area next to the 0,0 where the portal is to turn into end stone. still not working.

edit: pic this is the current setup I use. the strip of end stone leading away is natural. there are other places that have complete coverage of endstone and it doesnt work.

Edit 2: got it working. Made a 10x10x3 space of end stone inside the dirt. It worked just fine.
