I see a specialist and he sent me to a surgeon for a tube and he was like you have to get everything set up and I’m like wym??? Ordering the supplies and someone to tell me the rate?? I thought my doctor did that. So then the surgeon had to reach out to my doctors and be like who wants to manage it raise your hand, like how is the feeding part of the tube separate from getting the tube? And who tf orders the pump?? Where does that come from? And insurance where does that come in? I get my specialist not managing it but I don’t get how there’s not a step where he also sends me to a dietician or asks my primary or local gastro to do it? Is that on me to figure out? I was honestly so overwhelmed when the surgeon was explaining how that entire crucial aspect of having a tube wasn’t figured out I started crying like I’m mentally prepping for a tube at home and you’re telling me I have no one to tell me the rate to run it or follow this situation at all?? Is this normal?? Who takes care of all this is it supposed to be me? No one told me shit
