Post Body

With all the talk of being laid off/fired, for probationary employees what happens to their benefits if they’re let go? I’m assuming there’s no severance since we’re probationary but what happens to our pension and TSP? I’m assuming we can pull and transfer the TSP money to a private 401k like program but does our pension freeze until we work in federal government again?

I’m an intern so we’re trial period permanently until we graduate and convert. I’ve been doing this job close to 2 years already with a big chunk of change in my TSP.
