I'm considering buying back my time in the military so that it counts towards FERS but I have a question: does my FERS annuity calculation include how much money I made in the military?
It makes sense that it would because my "buy back" total is based on how much I made in the military, but I can't find a solid answer either way and want to make sure before I commit to buying back. The amount of money that I'll have to put into FERS is significant (over $20,000).
Because I made X amount of money in the military it's going to cost me more money to buy into FERS, am I going to get more money out of FERS because of that?
