I loved FGO for what it offered: A chance to delve deeper into the Grail lore of the Nasuverse. For the sense of adventure throughout the ages, for the opportunity to summon an army of waifus servants, and more.
However, after a year of playing every single day, the huge time consumed, the repetitive battle system and the Gacha hell wore me off. I still get excited when I see a new servant released, I still keep up with the story, but... The mobile format itsn't for me.
However, if it could ever be remade as a singleplayer game, like the Extra/Stella series (Don't say: "But there is already those", because it isn't the same), I could get back into the story and go on.
- A remake with story fixes;
- Chaldea as a base/HQ where you can explore with your 3D character and talk with your servants, go into quests/secret missions unlockable;
- Summoning system changed (of course), but still challenging (like collecting materials in-game in order to summon certain classes. 4 and5 star servants require a specific rare/secret material);
- Every event whose story is worth mentioning is either a DLC or an optional/secret mission;
What do you guys think? I personally believe that it could sell, when the mobile game stops being a huge money grab. If Stella succeeded, so this game would. I think it would offer an even better experience than Stella, for those seeking what they sought in Stella (Of course the battle system wouldn't necessarily be Musou. It could be an action rpg).
We already got a sort-of remake in the Arcade version, so why not?
