Transitioning from "trip" mode to... ?
Post Body

We have always traveled a lot, and that was and is our true passion. We enjoyed going from place to place and never spent more that 3 nights in any one spot. For 25 yrs, that worked awesome, and we enjoyed the very fast pace to our trips.

That was when we were younger, had limited time, were tied to school breaks/work schedules, and needed to maximize our trips. Things have changed now. We are essentially fatFIREd or about to be, have no time or financial constraints - but can't seem to get out of the "travel" mode we've become accustomed to. As in, every trip is 12 days or less, and no more than 3 days spent in any destination.

The biggest problem is that at 90 countries visited, we're running out of new and exciting places to go. And we aren't used to having an unstructured trip - where we DON'T have a scheduled activity or a planned drive. And it's been hard to switch from vacation mindset, which has become exhausting. We are currently on a 2 week every 2 month schedule.

We are curious to hear what others have done in similar situation. We (one of us) don't plan to go nomad, but if we could get 2 week stretches that didn't feel as exhausting, that would be very nice :)
