I have conflicting feelings about these photos. Many of these women radiate dignity, power, and always, beauty, but I know these photos were taken under colonial rule, and sold as exoticism in the form of postcards. Still, the blend of western blouses juxtaposed with traditional garments, feels uniquely theirs and worth appreciating.
