Encourage ppl to support our craft!
Post Body

Hi fellow seamstress/modistes/sempstresses/ dressmakers/fashion designers/tailors, or the like!

The discussion on my heart today is exactly what the title says: Encourage people to support their local seamstresses/tailors!

Time is advancing, and robots begin to take over jobs, new technological advances are emerging, and our world continues to deepen in the doom that is CONVENIENCE (in our case fast fashion, and department stores). We need to encourage the ppl to support our craft because it has several benefits:

  1. It’s more sustainable. • Less convenience= more sustainability. Fast fashion is unethical on so many levels. Harmful chemicals are being found on clothing, the labor put behind it is likened to slave labor, etc. Do your research!

  2. There’s more love put into the piece. • as you support an artist, you may find Easter eggs in their work. Also the piece is found to last longer (for a lifetime, that is typically the case).

  3. Art will return to become an integral value in the community. • humanity has strayed further from a simple version of life. Convenience has ruined everything! People are barely growing their own food, we rely on outsourcing a lot of labor that humans used to do ourselves, or support those who did it locally in the community.

All in all, let encourage the masses, whether on social media, in your peer groups, in your family, etc. Use your voice to tell people to support local seamstresses/tailors, but really artists in general. (TL;DR)
