Growing seasons question
Post Body

Hello fellow farmers,

New to the series and still learning. I have a question about growing seasons. When looking at the growing calendar, most are pretty easy to understand. My issue is with the few crops that have offset planting and harvesting seasons, such as canola or cotton.

Say for canola. The calendar says the harvesting season ends before the planting season ends. Does this mean that if I planted a canola field in September, I would need to let it sit and grow for the almost ten months until July to be able to harvest it? Or with Barley, I'd plant it in October and harvest in 8 months in June?

Thanks so much.
