Solar power for irrigation purposes - here is what I have found
Post Body

The TLDR is that solar has about a 6-year pay back if you are using a diesel pump and about an 11-year pay back if you are using solar to supplement an existing electrical irrigation pump.

If you want more info, full blog post is here: https://www.forestlodge.nz/post/solar-power-and-irrigation-the-near-perfect-use-case

As always, I am new to this, so welcome feedback if anyone spots a hole in my logic.

I am in New Zealand so its currently summer, prices of diesel and kwhs from grid are based on NZ observations.
