Hey Folks,
We are at out wits end with these Chore Time Heaters. It's winter now and low temp barn alarms ring all through the night. These are the Dura-Therm propane units.
Problem is they're overheating. They will reset themselves after what seems to be 10 minutes or so but in the cold nights, it allows the barns to get down low enough to trigger the alarm.
We have tried a new motor, new squirrel cage and new capacitors/high limit switches. Still the issue persists. We have over 20 of these units and every single one experiences this issue at one point or another.
We do have one Shenandoah heater, 14 years old that has literally never quit once. Unfortunately Chore Time bought them out and now no longer exists.
I'm wondering if any other farmers out there deal with this issue and what has been done to fix it? Thanks in advance for any advice!
