Aiming in new dawn feels awful

Far Cry New Dawn

I've played a fair few of the far cry games. I noticed right away that the guns didn't feel that good. Especially when I compared to games like ghost recon. I thought maybe it was just my specific gun I was using or maybe im just bad.

Then this happened. Raiding and outpost and there's a guy right infront of me. I get my pistol and shoot him 3 times in the head. No bullets registered. Sight was bang on. Controlled the recoil.

Its happened a few times since. There's just something not right with this one. Anyone had similar experiences?
