How do you come up with a Plot?

Post Body

I can't think of anything. I started writing a while back, and I'd get an idea for a book from literally just seeing a bird flying. I quit for a few months, and now I'm back. I'm rewriting the characters and world from my old WIP, ready to start a new one. But one problem. I can't think of a new plot! Somebody help and tell me where y'all get your ideas for new books. Thanks.

I’ve been struggling with this a bit myself. I didn’t realize it was such a trope but I spent probably a year building an extensive world and them I realized I had a whole world but very little story.

So far the best thing I’ve found is 1) I asked myself ‘what would I, myself find the most interesting story to read that would interest me more than anything I’ve read before? And 2) I’ve been using Notion to organize the plot points that I have decided on and that way I can move them around and edit them as I add more 3) Just talking about it. If you ever need a sounding board feel free to message me!
