How do you write a world with magical creatures if you also have animal humanoids that are completely unrelated?

The issue is that they are (at this moment) completely unrelated. I have this species of frog monster that can throw hands like crazy. It sneaks around and doesn’t do much other than chill and vibe but when provoked it’s practically a demon in disguise. And then I have a old grumpy frog man who sits under a leaf umbrella, smokes kush, and reads books. There are other monsters and other animal humanoid characters and creatures, but currently these are the only two who interact. A pack of then roll up on the sage and he gives them sweets and tells them stories, and they walk away.

But the issue is they aren’t related?? Some of my sage characters are very good with my monsters, a deep spiritual connection but how can I have monsters and animal people without them needed to be literally related?
