Technological advancements and modernization in Fantasy settings?

I'm planning to write a standalone (or maybe a series) set 500 years into the future after the events of the first Series. The first Series is a Fantasy which contains magic, but by jumping into the future, technological advancements naturally occur, I'm worried if this would change its genre however, I'm sure that the presence of magic will keep it in the Fantasy genre.
