Why was such an important scene omitted in the ending of Two Twisted Crowns?
Post Body

This will contain spoilers for the ending of the book:

I just finished this series, and while I truly enjoyed it, I was miffed at the omission of a scene I was really looking forward to.

Elspeth spent the entirety of this book locked away in the Nightmare’s mind. She finally worked her way back to being able to communicate with Raven, and they supported each other throughout their journey to get the Twin alders card.

When the Nightmare is laid to rest, Elspeth regains her body. I was ABSOLUTELY looking forward to the reunion of Ravyn and Elspeth when they could finally be together again.

But we never get that. We get an epilogue of Elm’s wedding where Ravyn and Elspeth are doing well as a couple.

What the hell. Why would an entire book that highlights the longing between these characters skip over that sweet reunion scene??? Am I missing something or misunderstanding their relationship? I thought they were the main characters and that they were very much in love.

I feel so dissatisfied.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who was in tears from the final Nightmare and Elspeth scene 😄 my goodness, I wasn’t expecting to have that reaction.
