The books series I'm trying to remember is about a FMC who is a guardian of a station with portals ton other worlds. It turns out the stations are sentient and she can design and recreate the station building however she wants.There is a hidden room of dangerous artifacts. The last book I read took place on a world with a hidden /thought dormant station. The MMC is a former soldier of some sort. There is a governing bodybthat wants to keep the origins of the stations secret. I wish I could remember more.
