Sup r/fantasyfootball – saw a post on here recently talking about players with great schedules ROS, specifically for the fantasy playoffs. I wanted to add some actual numbers to this discussion. I have to assume that many of your league’s trade deadlines are coming up, as I know mine are. For those of you who are playoff bound, hopefully this helps you identify some “Buys” and “Sells” to bring home that championship.
Little background on the data itself: I used the Fantasy Points Allowed from FantasyPros (https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/points-allowed.php) to get the numbers for Playoff Strength of Schedule. This chart uses 0.5 PPR scoring, so Playoff SOS for your league may be slightly different but this should be a good baseline. I also assumed a standard playoff schedule of Weeks 15, 16, and 17. If your playoffs go into Week 18.. find another league.
The numbers presented below are the Average Fantasy Points Allowed Rank, broken down by position, that each team will be facing during the Fantasy Playoffs. As a reminder, low numbers indicate a great playoff schedule, high numbers indicate a difficult schedule. By position:
QBs:
Easiest Schedules | Hardest Schedules |
---|---|
Texans - 6.3 | Rams - 27.7 |
Jets - 8 | Titans - 25.3 |
Panthers - 8.7 | Jaguars - 24.7 |
49ers - 9 | Chiefs - 24 |
Steelers - 9.3 | Dolphins - 23.7 |
I don’t think anyone is willing to bet their season on Davis Mills, Zach Wilson, whoever is starting between Walker/Darnold/Mayfield, or Kenny Pickett. Jimmy G has been pretty consistent since taking over in Week 2, so if you’ve been streaming QBs I think he’s a decent add if available.
If you’ve got Mahomes or Tua I wouldn’t expect you want to change QBs, nor should you. Just tailor expectations for the playoffs. Stafford and Tannehill are on the waivers in most non-superflex leagues, and they should stay there. Lawrence owners may want to pivot to another backend QB1 if they can.
RBs:
Easiest Schedules | Hardest Schedules |
---|---|
Jets - 9 | Raiders - 27.7 |
Saints - 9 | Bengals - 25.3 |
Chiefs - 10 | Giants - 24.7 |
Ravens - 10.3 | Browns - 24 |
Lions - 10.3 | Chargers - 23.7 |
Crying for what could have been for Breece. That said, both Michael Carter and James Robinson should have nice floors for this run. Kamara could be a great buy after 2 disappointing weeks and with his week 14 Bye, but only if you’re sitting pretty as a 1 or 2 seed. Pacheco could be a, trying not to drink the kool-aid too much, a league winner if the Chiefs continue to increase his workload. I think Gus is a tentative buy with Dobbin’s health a big question mark, but he has injury concerns himself. If you still believe in Swift, go get him. If you don’t, Williams role seems to be established and should provide a nice floor.
Awful playoff schedules for RB1, RB2, RB4, RB6, and RB7. You’re probably headed to the playoffs due to Ekeler, Chubb, Barkley, Jacobs, and Mixon and it would be hard to part from them. The only one I could see selling (for the right price) is Mixon. If you exclude the 53 pt game, he’s averaging 12.5 points which would be good for RB21.
WRs:
Easiest Schedules | Hardest Schedules |
---|---|
Texans- 5.3 | Chiefs - 29 |
Ravens - 5.7 | Vikings - 27.7 |
Panthers - 9 | Rams - 25.3 |
Steelers - 9.7 | Dolphins - 24 |
Packers - 10 | Bengals - 22.3 |
Fire up your Brandin Cooks, Nico Collins, Devin Duvrnays, and Demarcus Robinson’s.. kidding here. I think DJ Moore and Diontae Johnson could be buys as they probably won’t cost much, and their owners, based upon preseason ADP, may not currently be playoff bound. Lazard has quietly been good when he plays, and if he wasn’t the first waiver wire acquisition this morning I would go pick up Watson right now.
Juju has seemingly emerged as the WR1 in KC but will likely miss time with the head injury. If he’s on your roster, I don’t think anyone will buy before the trade deadline. As for the Toney, MVS, Hardman owners, consider looking elsewhere. You could tell me JJ is required to play with only one arm during these weeks and I wouldn’t stop starting him. As for Kupp, if he is back for the playoffs, I don’t think he will be productive due to both his injury and competition. Both Hill and Waddle have been incredible; Hill is a set and forget IMO, but I wouldn’t be opposed moving Waddle for the right price. Higgins has been underwhelming as the WR1 with Chase out, and they both look like they have a tough playoffs.
TEs:
Easiest Schedules | Hardest Schedules |
---|---|
Jets - 7 | Eagles - 29 |
Patriots - 9.7 | Browns - 25.7 |
Chiefs - 10.7 | Commanders - 22.3 |
Panthers - 11 | Detroit - 22 |
Cardinals - 11.3 | Ravens - 21.3 |
With the Goedert and Ertz injuries it truly feels like you either have Kelce, Andrews, or you’re hoping for a touchdown. Conklin and Henry may be steaming options. Trey McBride is worth a flyer in 2TE formats. Leave the Eagles and Lions backups on the waivers, same with Logan Thomas. Andrews is an obvious hold, as is Njoku because.. well.. what better option do you have?
As for Kickers and D/ST, I'm not going to try and break down this info, just providing it. As usual, I will probably default to whatever u/subvertadown says.
Kickers:
Easiest Schedules | Hardest Schedules |
---|---|
Titans - 6.7 | Cowboys - 29.7 |
Buccaneers - 7.3 | Bears - 26 |
Rams - 8.3 | Jets - 25 |
Jaguars - 8.7 | Texans - 24 |
Colts - 9 | Panthers - 23.3 |
D/ST:
Easiest Schedules | Hardest Schedules |
---|---|
Chargers - 5.7 | Colts - 24 |
Raiders - 7.3 | Texans - 23.7 |
Vikings - 10 | Saints - 22.7 |
Chiefs - 10.7 | Titans - 22.3 |
Giants - 12 | Patriots - 22 |
Use this data however you like. Best of luck, lets bring home those Championships.
