The 1.02 this year is tricky to me. 1.01 will go to JT nine times out of ten. But with the 1.02, is it CMC, Ekeler, Kupp, Henry, someone else?

CMC- Not much needs to be said. 10 games in the last two years but highest ceiling for fantasy out of any player, and safest floor when healthy. I know we want our first round pick to be a guarantee smash but there are no guarantees in fantasy. CMC is a swing for the fence pick, and if he’s healthy the JT owner will wish he picked CMC instead.

Ekeler- PPR god. How sustainable is it though for someone who time and time again self admits isn’t a bellcow? If he can maintain the high catch total then he could find another top 5 finish. He’s also one who needs to stay healthy, and Spiller is quite obviously the best RB Ekeler will split with since Gordon. So maybe there’s more of a split there than we may expect, especially with 1/2 downs and goal work.

Kupp- Kupp outscored everyone last year, RB and WR alike. Can he do it again? And given the positional scarcity, if you’re in anything more than a 12 person league, are you okay taking a WR this early and hope enough top tier RBs are left for you on the way back? Locking in what could be the WR1 of the season would feel great, but how sure are you he can repeat that production and is this too early to take a WR in general.

Henry- Feels like an even bigger fence swing than CMC. Dude could score you 35 points a week or he could get injured early on and be out for half the season. A guy like this feels like a diesel truck you run until it doesn’t turn over anymore. Straight into the ground. Makes me nervous taking him at all to be honest, no less at the 1.02. If Henry was a confident candidate to stay healthy then he’d probably go 1.01, but I’m really not sure I trust his health given his style of play. And I don’t know how good they team will be anyway this year, so who knows how well they’ll move the ball or how many scoring opportunities there will be.

If not these guys, would you reach for JJ or Chase this early? Mixon or Swift if you’re just trying to get your guy?
