Are you ready r/fantasyfootball? Is your mind open, your aura cleansed, and your chakras in alignment? If not, continue on and feast upon the bounty of the universe brought to you by yours truly.
Let me guide you to fantasy football success through the power of an ancient tradition via a modern mobile app! It's time for more fantasy football predictions through Tarot readings.
Past week spreadsheets with accuracy ratings(week 3 ) kindly added by tometoyou1983 (<33)
Notes:
- I currently use Golden Thread Tarot to save time and better record each read. Some reads in the future might be done with a physical deck.
- Each player has a single tarot card drawn to inform the question "How will [player name] perform in [week x] of the NFL season?"
- Each card cell links to a description in Labyrinthos. They are the same descriptions/card illustrations as those in the Golden Thread app and help explain my comments on the card visuals.
- I'm not experienced in Tarot readings prior to this season at all.
Let's a go!
The Denver Broncos:
Player Position/Name | Card | Keywords | Hot Take |
---|---|---|---|
QB: Case Keenum | VII of Pentacles - Reversed | Work without results, distractions, lack of rewards | Not a good draw for fantasy performance. Sounds like he'll be frustrated all night with points going elsewhere. Look for a rushing focused game. |
RB: Freeman | Page of Cups | Delightful surprise, inner child, inuition | What did I say? Royce is a good play, delightful surprises are just lovely. |
RB: Lindsay | II of Cups - Reversed | Imbalance, broken communication, tension | Sounds like Freeman will get the majority of carries. Although Lindsay can be saved through receptions and gamescript, but the broken comms make me doubt this. The imbalance could point to run game first. lower-middling performance most likely. |
WR: D. Thomas | VII of Swords - Reversed | Turn a new leaf, desire to reform, desire to change | The last two weeks have been similar to this, a new spark and some decent scoring. Expect a decent fantasy game, but still not fully formed or able to be relied on. |
WR: E. Sanders | Page of Cups - Reversed | Immaturity, escapism, lack of creativity | Downgrade for Sanders. Looks like we should go with Thomas this week instead. Points are falling out of Emmanuel's cup! |
WR: Sutton | V of Cups - Reversed | Acceptance, moving on, finding peace | Good play this week! But think of him performing in line with his last few weeks, maybe a little bit better. ~10 in ppr. |
TE: Heuerman | Ace of Cups - Reversed | Wasted emotions, blocked creativity, emptiness | Nope, stay away. |
K: McManus | II of Swords | Difficult choices, indecision, stalemate | Meh, not a great game. There's no clarity here, real coin flip. |
D/ST: | VI of Wands - Reversed | Self-doubt, lack of recognition, punishment | Not a good week for the Broncos' D! Sounds like they'll make some glaring mistakes. |
The Arizona Cardinals:
Player Position/Name | Card | Keywords | Hot Take |
---|---|---|---|
QB: Rosen | III of Pentacles | Teamwork, collaboration, building | Good card for Rosen. He's not necessarily leading and I wouldn't start him outside of DFS, but the team is coming together. Look for him to spread it out. |
RB: David Johnson | VI of Cups | Nostalgia, happy memories, reunion | This card is my nemesis. But I can only take it as good news for DJ since his past is his prime. Just hope he doesn't get lost trying to do too much, solid game coming. |
RB: Edmonds | Ace of Wands | Creation, willpower, inspiration, desire | He has been terrible lately, but he's a sneaky dfs play if you truly believe in the cards. This is his week to prove things. |
WR: The Pride of The University of Phoenix | Queen of Swords - Reversed | Cold hearted, cruel, bitterness | The bitterness scares me, but I like the rest. He might leave opponents by the wayside. Good game, he'll benefit from defensive mistakes, but I'd still go Kirk over him. |
WR: Christian Kirk | The Magician | Willpower, desire, creation, manifestation | Magic plays incoming, fire up your Kirks. |
WR: Chad Williams | King of Swords | Intellectual, power, truth | He'll make his catches and might outperform his average, but still you can't expect too much. |
TE: Seals-Jones | VIII of Swords - Reversed | Self-acceptance, new perspective, freedom | Playing free this week, I'd start him over Williams easy. Expect a decent performance similar to last week. |
K: Dawson | X of Wands | Accomplishment, responsibility, burden | Mediocre performance. Nothing spectacular, but not terrible. |
D/ST | Justice - Reversed | Dishonesty, unaccountability, unfairness | Not sure how to read this. They're cheating, but not necessarily being punished for it. I think they keep up their surprised run over the last two games, but slightly downgraded. |
