Hi guys, back again this week with some new data, analysis and features. Just to note I usually update the site by Tuesday morning but I don't post here til Wednesday which means my post misses waiver time but don't let that stop you from going and checking out the charts yourself.
Didn't get to RBs, WRs, TEs last week, they're a bit more complex as you've got multiple players for each team but I'll pick out a few favourite matchups for this week.
Here's a link to last week's which gives a bit more of a breakdown to whats going on in the charts
New this week I've added some Rolling Projection Charts, these work the same as the projection charts but only count the last 4 weeks worth of game data. Not super useful yet but good to compare against as we get further in the season.
On to this week's analysis, just fyi usually I focus on a few weeks at a time not just who the best plays are this coming week.
DSTs: Projections / Rolling Projs / Matchups
Quick note on last week, my top two picks had been the Vikings and Bills, that turned out well. Minnesota is on bye this week but my top pick otherwise is the Bills again, up against Kaep, hard not to love, they also square off against Miami next week who've been giving up lots of points.
Cards seem like a strong play vs the Jets but that's still being skewed by Fitz's spectacularly poor display two weeks ago, still a solid start though. Broncos and Eagles don't have particularly great matchups but you've gotta start them.
For potential pick ups, I like the Ravens and the Steelers up against the Giants and Miami respectively.
Kickers: Projections / Rolling Projs / Matchups
Alright so mentioned that Vinatieri was my favourite pick last week for kickers and may have just gotten lucky but he went off and I won a few games because of it, he'll continue to be a strong start against Houston. Sturgis was my recommended pick up last week and he also did great, I'd continue to start him or pick him up if you haven't yet. If Sturgis isn't available, check out Zuerlein, LA isn't the strongest offense but they've been getting into FG range at least fairly regularly.
Tucker had a bad week, I blame the wind, he'll bounce back this week. Had mentioned Gano last week as well but with Cam out the offense fell apart, wouldn't touch him til Cam is back.
QBs: Projections / Rolling Projs ? Matchups
Big Ben and Brady were my top picks last week and they delivered, they'll continue to be among the top picks til week 8 when Ben has a bye and Brady has three tough weeks starting then, Buffalo, a bye then Seattle. Speaking of which, expect big things from Russ this week against Atlanta, should be coming back fully healthy from a week off.
If you check out the Rolling charts which throw out week 1, Tyrod and Dak seem like they could be posed for big weeks. Worth noting that the Cowboys are on bye net week and then Romo is likely going to be back shortly after so Dak is likely just one week plug.
RBs: Projections / Rolling Projs / Matchups
Mathews, McCoy and D.Murray are my favs this week who I expect to outperform their usual selves. Expected a bit more from Mathews last week but I guess that's football. CJ Anderson is another guy I thought would have a big week and regardless of that I think he'll bounce back and have a big week this week against San Diego who have been exploitable.
I like Carolina's matchup against New Orleans but with Stewart questionable he might be eased in and it could turn into an RBBC. If he's not back, CAP is a definite start.
WRs: Projections / Rolling Projs / Matchups
Generally there's a lot of similarities between QB and WR matchup rankings outside of teams with heavy TE usage (eg. Pats). Definitely want to be starting Brown and at least considering flexing Coates against Miami. Cooper and Crabtree are another two guys I think you have to be starting if you own them, same with DT and Sanders.
TEs: Projections / Rolling Projs / Matchups
Top pick at TE this week is Walker, Bennett roasted Cleveland last week and Reed did the week before as well. I also like Kelce vs Oakland and the recent revival of Jimmy Graham at home vs Atlanta. Gronk and Bennett are basically both must starts but could see them being boom or bust on who gets the most action.
Alright guys, as usual fire me some questions and feedback and I'll try and get to them. Particularly like to hear what you think of the new charts and what other functionality you'd like to see on the site.
Cheers.
