Thinking of making my league a points league next year to eliminate match-up luck. It won't be nearly as exciting on a weekly basis, but I think it will be a lot more accurate in indicating who is performing better/worse. I believe in the ideology of rewarding merit and not luck, so I want to find out if there are any downsides other than week-to-week excitement for a points league instead of head-to-head.

EDIT: a pro other than rewarding merit more accurately is removing the bye-week factor. a con other than less week-to-week excitement is increased difficulty to get out of a large loss-hole (i.e., harder to get out of 0-3, 0-4).
