Playing for money next year for the first time, but we have a dynasty rule in our league and was wondering who I should pay to keep from my championship-winning team...
Post Body

Hi! I'm part of a fun league that's made up of about 14 close friends. Next year, we're actually going to have a player auction (there's a five dollar salary cap so it's obviously not that serious). Our league will have a dynasty rule, however, that allows you to buy back players you had the previous for half the price someone else is willing to pay at auction.

My question is, who should I buy back for half price? I'm not very proud of my hitters and will most likely be getting rid of most of them, however I still have:

  • 1B Matt Carpenter
  • DH Chris Davis
  • OF Jay Bruce

And was wondering if any of them will be as good next year and worth a half price offer.

My pitchers are what I'm really proud of, and will most likely try to get most of them back unless you guys tell me otherwise for next season. They are:

  • Clayton Kershaw (No questions asked, buying him back at half off)

  • Chris Sale (As a White Sox fan, I'm getting him even though he's projected to do slightly worse I think)

  • Max Scherzer (maybe a slight decline in performance next year, is it worth 50% off?)

  • Cliff Lee

  • Jake Peavy (Kind of a let-down most of the season, now that he's with the Red Sox I'm sure what to do with him)

  • Hiroki Kuroda (One of my favorite pitchers, any ideas on how he'll handle next season?)

  • Alex Cobb (No idea on him, could go either way)

  • Bronson Arroyo (I'll likely give him up, wasn't a big help as I picked him up halfway through the season)

  • Jose Quintana (Solid cheap starter, plus a White Sox player)

  • Roy Halladay (Injured all season long with a few poor starts, will next season be any better for him?)

  • Jeremy Hellickson (I know he's young, is he expected to improve for next year?)

Feel free to give me any critiques or ideas you have, thanks!
