So this year my friends and I made a league based on the default settings from ESPN.com. This gives you 9 pitchers and 14 batters as your starting lineup. For next year though I want to reduce the roster to 8 pitchers and only 12 batters. This means that while we're reducing the percentage of points from pitchers down 11%, but we're also reducing the percentage of points gained from hitters 14%. I feel that with the default point scoring system ESPN.com uses this will unfairly value pitchers higher than hitters.
What alterations can I make to the point scoring system to even out the imbalance? Does my math check out or did I mess up somewhere?
Thanks!
