So years ago, I invented a new card game. Yes, it could be played with a regular deck of cards, but I figured I'd spice it up a bit by creating its very own cards that could be sold...how else would you make money from inventing a card game?
The cards are going to have a fantasy theme, so each card will need a depiction of a charecter.
10 Men folk cards 10 Elvish cards 10 Giants cards 10 Dwarf Cards 10 Nymph cards 10 Wizard cards 10 Troll cards 10 Monster cards 10 Artifact cards
The 8 races represent 8 different suits and the goal of the game is to collect one whole suit all while the other players are able to sabotage your efforts if they have an artifact card.
Right now I'm still at the planning stage, coming up with 80 unique and interesting charecters for the cards. In all honesty, the cards could simply be diffent colors and that's it, but I wanted to give this game a pleasing look to it. Once I have all my charecters, I would need someone to draw an awesome portrait of each one for each of their cards. The cards would need a uniform back side, and a box for them to be sold in.
I'm looking for an artist, but I'm also trying to guage a cost for such a venture. I'm not much of a negotiator for upfront costs, but if I'm planning on selling this deck of cards in stores, after cost of production, I would say it would be fair to offer 40% of the remaining profits to the artist who helps me.
I'm an author currently working on a book and this card idea is being used as a means to support me while I write, so honestly, I'm not looking to become rich from this, just profitable enough to support me while I work on other projects that WOULD generate millions. So if you're inclined to help me out, you'll be taken care of as much as I am. ...plus, I'll eventually need an illustrator for my books, so I would certainly keep you in mind in the future.
